about...
It’s 7.30pm and I’m visiting Chelsea at her studio. It’s a quiet sanctuary, bathed in the soft glow of evening light. The air is filled with the faint smell of paint and tea… jasmine tea… and the space is alive with the energy of things half-finished— fabrics cascade over tables, canvases stand silently as if they hold secrets of their own...and she stands there…with quiet grace, the creator, at the heart of it all.
As she pours tea into two delicate cups, she ushers me to go make myself comfortable. I wrap my hands around the cup, its warm porcelain against my palms. She begins to tell me how her journey began in the halls of Bedales School, where art first became her language, then later in the world of Fashion Buying at Browns Fashion and Ralph Lauren, she learnt that true luxury is not in the glittering surface, but in the stories we carry.
A quiet pause, as we watch the steam rise from our cups. We sit here… in the comfortable silence between us. No words, no hurry.
We’re present. In this space. A safe space where she has found a way to merge her two worlds: art and fashion, creativity and sustainability. Each piece is a conversation with her past, her learnings, and her hopes for what lies ahead. The purpose is not just about what we consume, but about what we believe, what we protect, and how we live. After all, this is actually… our space.
She leans over to pour me some more tea, “ok, wanna have a closer look at some of the pieces now?”
